INDUSTRIAL ECOLOGY


In order to encourage industrial development at the Bomen Business Park via the demonstration of sound, efficient and coordinated environmental management, Wagga Wagga City Council aims to lay the foundation for the implementation of industrial ecology principles at the Bomen Business Park.

The Bomen Strategic Master Plan states that a key objective for Bomen is that it is an international example of best-practice eco-industrial principles.

The practical aspects of industrial ecology at Bomen that are considered to have a significant impact on future development include:

  • Contamination management and the potential reuse of site contaminants;
  • Water and stormwater harvesting and reuse;
  • Waste reuse; and
  • Ongoing stakeholder management to ensure the long-term success of industrial ecology.
