Wagga Wagga Chamber of Commerce and Industry

The Wagga Wagga Chamber of Commerce & Industry exists to support the businesses of Wagga Wagga, both large and small. It is a pro-active representative  organisation, strongly advocating for business, new and existing, and the Wagga Wagga economy. The principal function of the Chamber is to ‘bring local businesses together’.  This is achieved by seeking to understand the attributes of our particular community and how the Chamber can promote and encourage business. The Chamber recognises business excellence through its promotion of the successful annual Outstanding Business Awards, and through its association with the NSW State Chamber of Commerce, the Chamber offers members a range of advisory services, from industrial relations to taxation and legislative change issues.

Department of Industry and Investment

The Department of Industry & Investment (DII) is the NSW Government's business development agency.

DII provides a range of services to help you invest and prosper in the region. This includes advice, local knowledge and contacts, plus practical assistance for the establishment or expansion of your business, including export advice.  DII also offers a range of programs and services to help towns and villages build the capacity to attract and sustain business growth.

Riverina Business Enterprise Centre

The Riverina Business Enterprise Centre (BEC) is the chosen provider of Business Advisory Services on behalf of the NSW Department of State and Regional Development to intending and existing small business owners and operators in the Riverina Region of NSW. They offer a broad range of relevant, informative and understandable information for all small businesses in all industry sectors – no matter how small. Their Business Facilitators have over 43 years experience as business owners. Consultations are confidential and free. BEC is also a recognised trainer of Certificate IV Small Business Management by NSW Department of Education & Training.

Ausindustry

AusIndustry is the Australian Federal Government’s business program delivery division in the Department of Industry, Tourism and Resources and it provides a range of incentives to support business innovation - both entitlement and competitive based programs.

AusIndustry delivers a range of more than 30 business programs, including innovation grants, tax and duty concessions and support for industry competitiveness worth nearly $2 billion each year to about 10,000 small and large businesses.

Austrade

The Australian Trade Commission (Austrade) is the Australian Government's trade and investment development agency, operating as a statutory agency with the Foreign Affairs and Trade portfolio. Austrade's Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Peter O'Byrne reports directly to the Minister for Trade.

Austrade assists Australian businesses contribute to national prosperity by succeeding in trade and investment, internationally and promoting and supporting productive foreign investment into Australia.

Riverina Regional Development Board

The Riverina Regional Development Board (RRDB) is an incorporated association supported primarily by the NSW Department of State and Regional Development.

The Board undertakes projects that meet the goals of the Riverina Regional Economic Development Strategy (REDS) and are compatible with the Board's stated objectives and extended goal elements. It acts as an advisory body to the Government on regional development issues and intiatives within the Riverina and as a vehicle for implementing actions to further regional development.

TAFE NSW Riverina Institute

As part of Australia's largest education network, TAFE NSW Riverina Institute offers around 580 courses through 19 campuses either on-campus, by distance learning, or a blend of both. Riverina Institute has a proud history of providing vocational education and training. It enriches lives by providing new career opportunities and giving people the confidence to pursue their lifelong dreams.

A significant part of Riverina communities, Riverina Institute continues to strengthen its link with both the school education system and the university sector and offers regional students a range of educational and training pathways, particularly through the University Study at Albury, Griffith and Wagga Wagga.

Specialist centres have also been established to provide high quality, state-of-the-art training and development services in areas that match high demand training needs - these are:

  • Primary Industries Centre, North Wagga

  • National Environment Centre, Thurgoona

  • Riverina Wine and Food Technology Centre, Griffith

  • National Aerospace Training Centre of Excellence, Forest Hill

  • Forest Industry Training Centre, Tumut

Three of the Institute's campuses are located in Wagga Wagga. The Primary Industries Centre at North Wagga Wagga provides specialist training in crops, livestock and horticulture. The Forest Hill RAAF Base hosts the National Aerospace Centre of Excellence, and the city campus includes the newly built award winning $8.6 Million Tourism & Technology Centre.
