DOBNEY AVE & PEARSON STREET NETWORKING EVENT
Wagga Wagga City Council has initiated a unique networking event for businesses located in the Dobney Avenue and Pearson Street precinct held on Tuesday, 20 September.
Businesses located in this precinct were invited to a networking function which focused on the theme of collective marketing. The networking is expected to foster word-of-mouth and referral marketing by neighbouring businesses.
"We have visited over 200 businesses across the whole precinct to personally invite business owners and managers to this event," Wagga Wagga City Council Manager Economic Development, James Davis said.
"We received a lot of genuine enthusiasm from business owners for this initiative. They see that a greater understanding of each other's businesses can potentially translate into increased business for all."
Wagga Catering Equipment hosted the networking event and opened up their new showroom in Pearson Street for the occasion. "Having recently relocated to this precinct and built our new premises, an opportunity to showcase our business to our fellow traders and to provide a place for everyone to get to know each other comes at an ideal time for us," Business Partner of Wagga Catering Equipment, Adrian Hamilton explained.
The event will include insights from Nathon Irvin, Operations Manager WIN Television and Mark Rapley, Owner Jam Media, who will spoke on the theme for the evening ‘The Power of Collective Marketing'. "I think everyone knows that a group should be greater than the sum of its parts," Mr Rapley said. "At this event I want to illustrate how marketing collectively can be done effectively, and suggest how it could work in the Dobney Avenue/Pearson Street area."
As well as the networking opportunities, the Council will provide an overview of the groundbreaking Evocities Campaign and the new Wagga Wagga City Branding.
