EVOCITIES - THE ART OF LIVING
After 5 years of hard work and careful planning by the local councils of Albury, Armidale, Bathurst, Dubbo, Orange, Tamworth and Wagga Wagga, Evocities - a unique project to attract new residents created and brought to life by the seven cities - was launched to the Sydney public on 22 September 2010.
The campaign well and truly hit the ground running and, in the months since launching, continues to generate enormous interest amongst Sydneysiders who are looking for an alternative to capital city living. We have been delighted with the response to the campaign so far and are excited about the benefits it will bring to our city.
KEY FINDINGS:
The main conditions required to change in order for participants to consider relocation were employment (29%), financial incentives (11%) and facilities in the area (9%).
One of the issues to overcome for those thinking about relocating is employment opportunities. Our Wagga Wagga Evosite has many local job opportunities and we would encourage local businesses to register today and gain access to all the latest job opportunities in Wagga Wagga and surrounds. You can access the site at www.wagga-jobs.com.au/account/login and it's free and simple to use!
The cost of housing was seen to be the biggest advantage of country NSW over Sydney, and variety and choice was seen as one of the biggest disadvantages.
