MEDIA RELEASE - Futures Week
What kind of Wagga Wagga do you want in 2030?
What will you see? What will you do? How will you feel?
What kind of Wagga Wagga do you want in 2030?
That is the key question Wagga Wagga City Council is asking the community as part of the Vision 2030 Project being conducted over the coming months.
The Vision 2030 project will kick off with Futures Week from November 16 -21, a week of activities designed to explore how the local community wants to grow and develop in the future.
‘Visioning' challenges residents to imagine what future they would like and how their City can develop to accommodate that. The end result is a strong future vision for the City to work towards, allowing Council to plan for and execute the kind of works and services the community have identified. "A strong vision not only guides Council's activities, but also helps other stakeholders, such as other tiers of Government and the private sector, to understand where the City is going, and how they can contribute," said Mayor Kerry Pascoe.
Vision requires thinking of the City as a whole - a community made up of diverse social, economic and environmental elements and aspirations. "The creation of a strong Vision relies on the contribution from the whole community,"
continued Mayor Pascoe. "The consultation activities, kicking off with Futures Week, are important opportunities
for residents to contribute to creating the future of Wagga Wagga."The Vision 2030 project is your chance to help make a mark of the future of the City of Wagga Wagga."
