MORE FUNDING FOR EVOCITIES CAMPAIGN

The seven regional cities behind the Evocities project - a major campaign encouraging Sydney residents to live, work and invest in one of the cities - Welcomed the announcement of $111,855 of funding from the New South Wales Government Department of Trade and Investment, Regional Infrastructure and Services (DTIRIS).

The funding, granted under the NSW Government's Enterprising Region Program, will expand Evocities' online presence, including an investment website which details business opportunities in the regions, and the creation of seven new dedicated real estate websites, one for each of the cities involved in the campaign.

There will also be enhancements to the existing Evocities website (www.evocities.com.au) and new functionality for the seven EvoJobs websites which have been crucial in highlighting employment opportunities in each of the cities.

A key element of these new and enhanced web-capabilities tools will be the seamless and simple manner in which they bring together the crucial elements important to potential ‘city-changers' - city and lifestyle information, careers, investment opportunities, real estate and the ability to talk to a relocation expert in each of the cities - to create what Evocities organisers are calling the campaign's online ‘Evo-Galaxy'.

Evocities spokesperson, James Treloar, said the NSW Government's funding commitment is vital as the campaign, which has already seen many of the seven Evocities gain new residents as a direct result, relies heavily on its web-presence.

"One of the primary calls to action of Evocities to date has been attracting people to the Evocities website to get more information on the campaign and each of the seven cities, to field any enquiries they might have about relocating, and to give them a taste of some the fantastic career and employment opportunities in each of the cities.

"On this measure, we have been extremely successful so far, with more than 90,000 visits to the main Evocities website, and over 1,200 enquiries from interested relocators, businesses and investors. We know that visitors like and find our current websites useful, but many say they are looking for more information on investing and property in the cities.

"The ‘Evo-Galaxy' this new funding will allow us to create helps us meet this need and will make the decision process for potential Evocities relocators or investors even easier," Mr Treloar said.

"We look forward to working closely with the Hon. Premier Andrew Stoner, Deputy Premier, the NSW Government and DTIRIS to build on our early success and encourage more people to relocate and to invest in the opportunities the Evocities have to offer."

In addition to this new funding, the Australian Government and each of the seven cities has dedicated resources and funding to the campaign. The seven Evocities have also secured support from corporate sponsors, including the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Charles Sturt University, the University of New England, Rex Airlines, Orange Mental Health and GWS Personnel.
