See Wagga Wagga the Way You Never Have Before!!!
One of the best kept secrets on the Council's web site is the GIS public mapping. This is an amazingly rich source of mapping information and is accessible by anyone from the Council's web site.
It provides maps of Wagga Wagga with a range of overlays including the usual roads and water through to LEP Zones, heritage items, conservation areas, urban release areas, aerial imagery and more. You can search for individual addresses, a parcel of land or zones. It is a powerful tool and worth having a look at to see how it may be relevant to your business.
The way to find it is as follows:
- Go to www.wagga.nsw.gov.au
- On the blue tabs at the top, run your cursor over the ‘Council' tab. On the drop down menu that appears, click on ‘Maps' which is the last item on this menu. This will take you to the Wagga Wagga Maps page.
- On the Wagga Wagga Maps page, click on the blue hyperlinked ‘here' which is under the first sub-heading ‘Online Mapping'. This takes you to a ‘conditions of use' page.
- On the conditions of use form, scroll to the bottom and click ‘I agree' (assuming you do!).
- The map page will now load. The top left hand corner has three tabs called ‘Maps', ‘Legends' and ‘Search'. You can click on any of these and see what the options on the menus provide. Note however, that it maybe best to click on the ‘Maps' menu first and select options there. The selection of these options will change the menu that is displayed under the ‘Legends' tab. For example, if you select ‘Planning' under the ‘Maps' tab, then the menu under the ‘Legends' tab is expanded to include options for the LEP, DCP and aerial imaging. The ‘Search' tab menu also changes to allow searches related to the LEP.
We hope you find this a very useful resource!
