WAGGA TOPS LIST AS THE 'HAPPIEST PLACE IN THE WORLD'!
Wagga and the wider Riverina is home to the happiest people in the country!
WAGGA residents need not travel to Disneyland to find the happiest place on earth - it seems we're contented right here. A survey of electorates has found Wagga and the wider Riverina is home to the happiest people in the nation.
On average Wagga residents rank at 79.5, making it the happiest city in Australia, according to Professor Cummins from Deakin University. The survey wasn't about material or fleeting levels of happiness, but a deep mood state which gives us a positive sense of self. "I think people in rural areas do better because they are nicer people who have a strong sense of community and they connect with others," he said.
Following a recent visit to Wagga for the filming of the happiness story for 60 Minutes, Professor Cummins said he was greatly impressed with Wagga, the beach, the city layout and features.
